Yesterday, we celebrated an important day in the Islamic calendar; Eid Al-Adha. It is celebrated, at the end of Hajj, by Muslims world wide to commemorate and honour Prophet Abraham’s (pbuh) act of submission to the Him.
This year is especially memorable to my family and I because, Alhamdulliah, we had the opportunity to participate in the religious Qurbani ritual but unfortunately it would be our last Eid celebrations here in Kirikiriroa, Te Aotearoa. Bittersweet aye?
The Eid prayers were held at the stunning Hamilton Gardens which by the way was awarded the Garden of the Year in 2014 by the International Garden Tourism Network. But that’s another story altogether.
And we ended the glorious day with our usual festive menu. Nom nom. 😉
