PYO Berries @ Ye Olde Berry Farm

A quick check on the weather report. Sunny till 3pm reported the forecast. Well, that was good enough for us to zoom to Ye Olde Berry Farm at their new location 479, Tauwhare Road.

If you are thinking of visiting the farm any time soon, it’s advisable to wear gum boots as the ground could be splashy and muddy especially with the unpredictable wet and dry spells we have been getting lately. Oh yes, don’t forget the rain jacket too. Lest it rains.

They are open for pick your own (PYO) berries only from Friday to Monday. $3 per head per entry. Free for under 3s. We each got a tub to hold our loot.

Unfortunately, the blueberries aren’t ready for gathering but nevertheless they still have some frozen ones in the store.

With all that checked off the list, we were good to go. First stop, the blackberries.

Just look at those blackberries. What a beauty eh? 🙂

Next, we went to the raspberry section. Now I know why there’s a hole in the middle of the fruit. Hurhur.

Simply gorgeous. Just couldn’t resist popping a few. 😉

Next, the highlight of the day, the strawberries. The section looked modestly small but don’t be easily fooled. I’ve found the hugest strawberries on this very same plot of land. 😉

And as all good things come to those who wait. Naturally, we waited. 😉
